Sports Illustrated Alabama Relief Auction to Benefit The American Red CrossPosted: May 5, 2011
Want to own a piece of sports history? Have lunch with Peter King? Or just want to help the relief efforts of The American Red Cross in the aftermath of the deadly tornadoes that tore through the South?
Sports Illustrated has put together a collection of unique experiences, iconic Neil Leifer photos and Sports Illustrated cover posters depicting Alabama’s storied college football history for auction on CharityBuzz.com. All proceeds raised from the auction will benefit the American Red Cross’ work helping thousands of people after the deadly tornadoes that destroyed neighborhoods throughout the southern region of the country.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation’s blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
